Covenant Day of Fasting
DAILY COMMUNION
Wednesday, May 8th Covenant Day of Fasting
Topic: SHEKINAH
Passage: Exodus 33:18-23
Focus: v18
“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory”
Shekinah refers to the overwhelming glory of God or the overflowing Glory of God. It is when God reveals Himself on Earth and to man in His full Glory. God appears in diverse ways and diverse degree of Glory to man but the experience of the Shekinah is the fullest and highest a Man could have.
Moses was a lifetime companion of God. The Scriptures bear the record that he spoke with God mouth to mouth just as a friend to his friend. But there on the mountain Moses made a special request for the shekinah dimension of God’s glory. God made some striking words in reponse to Moses’ request:
👉 “And be gracious to whom I will be, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy:” there is a viral question: Does God have favorites? God doesn’t just reveal the Shekinah dimension of His glory to any man.You must win the mercy of God to live in this flow of His Glory. Moses saw God in the burning bush and had spoken to God several times but this time God was set to reveal Himself to Him in His fullness.
👉"And cover thee with my hand while I pass by…and thou shall see my back": Shekinah is an encounter with the person of God. We realized that Adam and Eve were enclosed in the Shekinah so much that they didn’t know they were naked. The disciples have been with Jesus but until the encounter at Mount of Transfiguration they didn’t get to experience the fullness of the Shekinah Glory of God.
It is my prayer for you that as we go on in this series you will have an encounter with Shekinah.
May the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you.
PYP: LORD, let there be an application of your overflowing glory in all things I will do today.
