DAILY COMMUNION
Topic: Koinonia V
Passage: Luke 24:17-31
Focus: 2 Corinthians 13:14
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion (Koinonia) of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen."
An ardent follower of this series would have discovered the true meaning of the word Koinonia and developed an healthy communal relationship with God the Holy Spirit. Since we mentioned that the Holy Spirit speaks from out heart or conscience and reading the word will make His voice clearer to us; there is a need to teach us how to approach the word.
How to read the Scriptures:
Schedule a regular time for it. It is best done very early in the morning for at least 20minutes. Daily Communion is recommended as a guide.
Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you from the Scriptures. You need to say it consciously, speak aloud to Him as if He is by you. Tell Him you want to hear His voice as you read the Bible.
Think into the Scriptures as you read. Whether at your quiet time or any other time. Remember the Holy Spirit speaks from your heart, so you have to engage your heart while reading the Bible. As you think, ask yourself questions, clarify any confusion you may have while reading. It is advisable you use other simple versions aside KJV for clarity. As you think into the Bible, you will understand what is written and the small still voice of the Holy Spirit will speak to you in form of promptness or inspiration. I want you to understand, that promptness and inspiration often come in form of thoughts. Luke24:30-31 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
Meditation: Meditation is an act of pondering upon what has been read. Meditation is done after you are done reading the Bible. As you journey through the whole day, you keep thinking or pondering over what you have read earlier in the day. God told Joshua to always meditate day and night (Joshua 1:8). Meditation is sweet in the day and it is sweeter at night. As you meditate, you are communing with Him. As you meditate, you are rubbing your mind with Him and that way you get used to His voice.
May the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you.
PYP: I will always read the Bible for at least 20 minutes in a day.

BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY
“Jesus said to his followers, “So I tell you, don’t worry about the things you need to live—what you will eat or what you will wear. Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on it.... None of you can add any time to your life by worrying about it’” (Luke 12:22-25 ERV).

QUOTE FOR THE DAY
The next time you find yourself in the middle of worrying about some matter, be wise to stop and ask yourself what the odds are of the problem really coming to pass. You may be able to go on to something more constructive. - Brad Stevens

PRAYER/ACTION FOR THE DAY
Pray that instead of worrying, you will trust in God to make ways for you where there seems to be no way.
