DAILY COMMUNION
Wednesday, March 27th Covenant Day of Fasting
Topic: Koinonia II
Passage: Genesis 18:17-32
Focus: 2 Corinthians 13:14
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion (Koinonia) of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen."
The previous week, we explained Koinonia as a communal relationship between man and God. Today we shall discuss those steps necessary to bring us into the reality of a mouth to mouth relationship with God.
Understand that God is a communal Being: To be communal means a person that loves communicating, that loves speaking, interacting and chatting. God loves to chat with man. God the Father loves to pay a visit to Adam at every evening to chat with Him, God the Father even called Abraham is friend because they always discussed. There was a time God decided to seek his opinion on a matter concerning Sodom and Gomorrah: Gen. 18:17 "And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do." God the Father requests for men to reason together with Him: Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
Jesus Christ, God the Son is also a communal Being. He had 12 disciples and at a time He called them His friends because they were always together. John 15:15 "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."
They loved and missed Him so much that when He was about to die He promised to send them the Holy Spirit who will always be with them and never leave them: John14:16 NLT. "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you." The Greek word translated Comforter in John 14:16 is actually "Parakletos". John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever."
This word also has several synonyms in the English language which is well explicit in the amplified: "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever."
May the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you.
PYP: I open my heart, fill it dear Lord with a desire to have a Koinonia relationship with the Holy Spirit.
SADOZ IS OURS: Decree that all souls invited for Anagkazo will be present at the retreat venues and Koinonia groups unhindered in Jesus Name- Acts 14:27
READ THE BIBLE IN A YEAR: Deuteronomy 19-20, Luke 24:1-25.
